Police investigate three burglaries
Verona police are investigating three home burglaries involving stolen jewelry that occurred during in a six-day period last week. Authorities said they recovered goods from one of the incidents.
“The only thing that may lead us to believe that they are connected is the time of day,” Verona Capt. Fred DiStefano said. story continues here.

Is field issue ballot-bound?
The issue of restoring Cedar Grove High School’s track and field came up at Monday’s Cedar Grove Town Council Staff.
Councilman Peter Tanella suggested putting a question on the May ballot in regards to this.
Deputy Mayor Joseph Chiusolo recommended as well that a question be formulated for the town to vote on in April in regards to whether or not the school gets a new track and or field. story continues here.
Verona talks tree ordinance
Right now, there are very few laws governing how you manage trees on your developed property in Verona. You could almost clear cut your property, or preserve every sapling.
The legal silence that allows you to do so can sometimes lead to neighbor disputes, environmental issues and extra work for the Verona Planning Board.
So after 10 years of unsuccessfully kicking around the idea, Verona officials said they would revisit the issue of a tree ordinance for developed properties. story continues here.
